Outreach Jesus said: A new commandment I give to you, to love one another; that as I have loved you, you also may love one another. We strive to live into that command by caring for friend and stranger alike. There are several ways to live out that command at St. Peter’s.
We work with the following agencies to provide outreach to the community.
The Lakeview Pantry distributes over 1 million pounds of food each year to people in need. St. Peter’s offers financial support as well as food donations to the Lakeview Pantry.
Northside Housing provides housing for people who would otherwise be homeless. Members of the St. Peter’s community prepare meals for guests living in the shelter.
The Lakeview Action Coalition (LAC) addresses issues important to the well being of the community, including affordable housing, care and safekeeping of homeless youth and environmental justice. St. Peter’s is a proud member and supporter of LAC.
The Cathedral Shelter: In December, we provide Christmas gifts for our neighbors in Chicago who would otherwise go without Christmas gifts.
